Jubilee Christian Fellowship enjoys being part of a wonderful
community.
We feel blessed to be serving in Ku-ring-gai and especially to be planted
in St Ives. The Village Green is very significant to us. Many years ago,
in a packing shed which stood near the site of the Bowling Club, a
Wesleyan preacher conducted the first church services held in St Ives. The
Village Green is physically central to the community, so we are pleased to
be called “The Church on the Village Green.”FESTIVALS Each year,
since the opening of the Sydney Olympic Games, the churches of Ku-ring-gai
have combined to present to the community the Ignite the Flame Festival
which is a gift of the churches to the families of the community, and
comprises games, rides crafts and children’s activities, and includes a
presentation of the gospel through music, dance, puppets and other stage
presentations. Since 2001 this event has been held on Anzac Day, and
includes an Anzac Day service.
Jubilee Christian Fellowship has been actively involved in the Festivals
each year. Our church’s special responsibility is the prayer tent, where
much ministry takes place.
VILLAGE FAIRS Since our church's formation in 1998, Jubilee has been
pleased to be participants in the annual St Ives Shopping Village Christmas Fair.
This is always a special occasion when we provide give-aways or provide craft work
for the children, and chat with parents or pray with them. In recent times we have
used "The Father's Love Letter' to share about the Father-heart of God.
The management of the Shopping Village
continually expresses their appreciation of our contribution.
These events provide us with an excellent opportunity to be the ‘church in
the market place’.
